My name is Beth Mildenhall. I have worked in the disability sector for over 25 years now in various roles, including support worker/carer, rostering, and support coordination.
I have extensive experience in the ageing and disability sectors and have managed and helped set up supported disability accommodation houses for clients to be able to live in the community and access various programmes with the support of workers as independently as possible. I am very client-focused in all that I do, working closely with families to achieve goal sand the best outcomes for their loved ones.
My role as an intake and engagement consultant for ResiCareSA is to support clients and families in understanding their NDIS plans and how to navigate them within the constraints of their funding. I like to assist clients and families to be able to engage with various external agencies and providers to achieve the best outcomes. I can assist families and clients with any issues that may arise and how to overcome them. Communicating and listening to client’s needs, goals, and wishes is key to success, as is supporting all clients and their families.
I then work closely on developing all documents needed to be able to provide as much information to all workers that work with these clients as possible to have a good understanding of the client's needs and how to best support them. I also work with the SIL Coordinator to ensure that all houses are compliant with SDA standards for clients and that they match the criteria.
We also provide in-home support for clients with NDIS funding within their own homes with a variety of services. We continue to identify the needs of clients and families in the community and the best way, when approached, to support them in living a fulfilling lifestyle.
ResicareSA also supports clients with DSOA funding (over 65) to remain as independent in their home as possible before having to consider other options such as home care packages or residential care.
