Accommodation and Tenancy Assistance

You are looking for a place to live, or need help keeping the one you have.

ResicareSA holds the Accommodation/Tenancy registration and runs 24 homes across South Australia, which means we can sometimes offer you one of ours. Often we cannot — the right home is somewhere else, or with another provider — and this support covers that case just as much: private rental applications, community housing, keeping a tenancy that is at risk, and dealing with a landlord or an agent.

Finding and keeping a home is one of the harder parts of the system to navigate on your own. This support covers the whole of it: working out what kind of housing suits you, searching for it, getting through an application, and then meeting the obligations that come with a tenancy.

We can help you prepare a rental application and supporting documents, attend inspections with you, understand a lease before you sign it, register for public and community housing, and communicate with landlords or agents. Once you are in, we can help with rent and bill routines, reporting repairs, responding to a breach notice, and understanding your rights as a tenant in South Australia.

If a tenancy is at risk, tell us early — most of what goes wrong is fixable if it is dealt with before it reaches a tribunal.
