ResicareSA has delivered personal care across South Australia since 2020, in the Adelaide metro area and in the country towns we run homes in — Whyalla, Port Augusta, Port Pirie, Kadina, Wallaroo and Mount Barker. Our support workers are employed by us rather than subcontracted through an agency, which is what makes it possible to send the same small group of people to the same person week after week.
Personal care is the part of the day that is hardest to hand over to someone else, so we treat it that way. Our support workers follow your routine, not ours: the order you like things done in, the time you like to get up, who you are comfortable having in the room, and what you would rather do yourself.
Support can cover showering and bathing, dressing and grooming, toileting and continence support, transfers and mobility assistance, prompting or administering medication, and help with eating and drinking. We write it down with you as a support plan, and the workers who come to you are the same small group wherever we can manage it — continuity matters more than almost anything else in this kind of support.
This support is delivered under NDIS registration group 0107 Assist-Personal Activities. A condition of our registration requires a risk assessment for any participant who chooses to be supported by a single worker; we complete that with you before support starts, and review it as things change.
