ResicareSA holds the Assist Personal Activities High registration, and the part that matters is who checks the work. Our Registered Nurses train support workers on each participant's specific clinical tasks, assess their competency before they start, and review it on an ongoing basis. Where a participant needs training we do not already have, we arrange and fund it at no cost to them.
Some personal care needs a level of skill beyond standard support: enteral feeding, complex bowel care, urinary catheter management, tracheostomy or ventilator support, subcutaneous injections, complex wound and pressure care, epilepsy management with emergency medication, and dysphagia management.
We deliver these supports under the NDIS Practice Standards High Intensity Daily Personal Activities module. Every worker who performs a high-intensity task is trained for that specific task, assessed as competent, and signed off by a clinician — and that sign-off is reviewed, not granted once. Where a support requires a plan written by a health professional (a mealtime management plan, an epilepsy plan, a bowel care plan), we work from that plan and keep it current with the practitioner who wrote it.
If you are moving to us from hospital or another provider, we will do the handover with your clinical team before the first shift rather than after it.
